Last September 2012, I was trying to convince my parents to have a pet. Although, deciding for which one was tough. I always wanted to have a cat, I usually pet those stray cats and feed them if I have food with me. I carry them and talk with them as if they were my own pet. I was happy that my parents allowed me to have one.

Last September 29, I decided to go to Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to send off my adoption application and went to PAWS last October 8 to bring the new member of the family at home.
Fang is a female cat, the people at PAWS had mistaken her as a male cat, I had to check on the back and found out that she was a female one.
From that day, we started to live as a family with a little cat who will make us meow and receive purrs all day long!
As for Fang, it took her a week or two before she got settled in our lovely household. I panicked a little bit since she wasn't eating much nor drinking her water, according to the shelter, the cat is still adjusting, so we made her adjust in our house for 3 days and there she started to eat little by little until we realized that she wants canned cat food. It was expensive, but all worth it for our beloved Fang as she gives us happiness, love and a pet is really a stress reliever.

As for Fang, her adjustment period was a bit longer than expected. She hid in the corners of our house (as expected with cats) and was afraid whenever we get close to her. I tried my best to carry her out and make her sleep with me so she'll get used to us, it did worked for me though, now she's sleeping anywhere in the house, she prefers it on my mother's room where she takes half of the bed and sleeps under the blanket. Also, I did not know that she had a wound on her left leg (seen in photo #2 in the upper right) but the wound is cured now. She is called Fang because she has Fangs, really. Some call her as the vampire cat some as the creepy cat since they were afraid on how my cat really looked like, but that makes her unique with the other cats. As the days go fast, she also gets sick, and we took care of her. One time, my mother was sick, she couldn't move nor stand, Fang was there all day, staying in her side, never leaving her.
At the moment, Fang has been in our family for almost 10 months in our house and our life is nothing without her. She is a very well trained cat by PAWS and I am 101% happy that I chose to adopt a pet cat than buying one, not only it helps the shelter but also gives a chance for another feline to be saved and adopted!
